Dr. Kate Newman
I am a licensed psychologist providing telehealth services to clients physically located in Massachusetts. I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and adults who stutter, as well as their families, in navigating the emotional, cognitive, and relational impact of speech differences. I also work with children and parents around anxiety and depression, including prevention and early support for families navigating parental anxiety, mood challenges, and the stresses of raising young children. In addition, I provide therapy for anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, and neurodivergence.
I completed my doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Boston University, with training in CBT, mindfulness, compassion-based approaches, trauma-focused interventions, and parent–child consultation. I have worked in diverse clinical, school, hospital, and research settings, providing therapy in English and Spanish. My background also includes living and working across Latin America, North and West Africa, Europe, and Australia, which informs my deep respect for cultural context, identity, and belonging.
I believe therapy is a collaborative exploration: we examine the stories you tell yourself, identify patterns that may limit ease or belonging, and develop strategies to reclaim confidence, authenticity, and connection.
